Three years ago today with little information or warning, my now-husband whisked me away down a long and (sometimes winding) road. It was June 23rd, 2013 – the day he was going to pop the question! I’ve thought long and hard about it and, because this day was so special and sentimental to me, I decided to omit the nitty-gritty, romantic details of his proposal from my blog and just share a little bit of the story along with a few photos of this magical day instead!
Although I had no idea where we were driving to for the longest time, I was so excited when we finally pulled up at Black Hills Aerial Adventures and saw the helicopter and pilot anxiously awaiting our arrival!
I had never been in a helicopter before – it was always a bucketlist item! I felt this grand gesture was one of many ways I knew that with him by my side, my dreams would always come true! Of course, I said YES!
Our flight took us throughout the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota where we had a bird’s-eye view of Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse monuments. It was so fitting to spend that time together being sky-high because we were both on cloud nine, and absolutely felt on top of the world.
Every day since has been an adventure, including our wedding less than three months later! Since then, we have been having the time of our lives traveling extensively together and experiencing so many wonderful things! We look forward to all of the great people, places, and things the future holds for us.
Wow, what a fantastic place to propose. Absolutely wonderful. May you have many exciting and happy adventures together. xox
Thank you so much!

Awwww this is such a lovely romantic story, I LOVE IT!!! You just know you have a diamond when you are going on a helicopter for your proposal … and I’m not talking about the rock on your finger 🙂 Seriously, you have one in a million there, I can totally see why you said YES! Love this post xx
